Currently two schools in our County are FOCUS Schools. They are Geraldine & Crossville. The SDFS Program is hoping to assist the remaining Dekalb County schools in also becoming FOCUS Schools. The FOCUS Program promotes school and community partnerships for the prevention of HIV/AIDS and other adolescent risk behaviors. The program is based on a student led approach and seeks to promote youth envolvement and the planning of prevention activities. The Alabama State University Center for Leadership & Public Policy provides project management for the FOCUS Program, which is funded by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
